We went to bed early on Monday night. I didn’t make a big deal about it, but I knew the electrician was coming on Tuesday to get more wiring done. So, I got Jessie up an hour early. She still got nine hours of sleep. Tuesday is bath day. For breakfast, Jessie had whole wheat toast and home-made apple butter. So, by the time the electrician got here, we had all the schoolwork for which I was necessary out of the way. While we wired, Jessie finished her school (math and phonics).
Jessie loves to follow us around while we wire. She tells stories and talks about her school and anything that comes to her mind. We got the solarium completely wired, we got an outlet in the hallway wired, and we got two outlets in the living room done. Now, we need no longer run extension cords from the dining room. There are only two outlets left in the living room to wire. We split the two outlets and put the upper outlet on a switch in the hall. We also eliminated three unused switches in the living room. Overall, it’s a well-thought-out and well-executed circuit. If you had been working with us in this house on the wiring, you’d know that’s no small thing.
After lunch, Jessie and I went to Walgreens, CVS, the library, and the post office (sisters had registered letters from the Daughters’ of the American Revolution).
We made some peanut butter blossoms.
In the afternoon, Jessie practiced violin.
We went to Lowe’s and got some longer screws to get an outlet and switch screwed into the box. Old wiring is a hoot.
That night, we raided storage. Our goal was to get Christmas wrapping paper, down comforters, winter jackets, and games. We succeeded in getting all of the above.
We went to bed about an hour late (9:00pmish). Bible. Prayer. Brushing teeth. Etc. Using the bathroom upstairs is a unique experience now with half the vanity gone. Day 189 was over.
Blessings: Having a place to store all the stuff from the last house. Not having orange drop cords running from the dining room to the living room. Sales at CVS on peppermint candy kisses. Jessie being oblivious to the fact that I woke her up an hour early so she wasn’t crabby
